ABOUT MIGAS

What does MIGAS stand for?
Manufacturing Industries Group Apprenticeship Scheme.

MIGAS
recruits and employs apprentices and trainees, then places them with Participating Training Companies for their training period.

MIGAS will tailor a training program to suit your business needs with provision for special requirements such as recognition of prior learning.

MIGAS will monitor each placement to ensure that safe, high quality training is received and high quality work is produced. Hence, lower costs, higher efficiency and higher productivity.

The term 'Group Training' refers to an arrangement where apprentices and trainees are employed by an organisation that takes primary responsibility for their training and employment but places them with one or two other businesses called Participating Training Company.

Group Training is particularly useful for small businesses which:

Find it difficult to commit to employing an apprentice or trainee for the entire training period.

Have a narrow range of work, so cannot provide the range of experience required by the apprenticeship or traineeship.

Prefer an agent to manage their employment and training responsibilities, e.g. recruitment and payroll.

MIGAS will employ apprentices and trainees and place them in your work place. We will organise their training, deal with all paperwork requirements and, if times are hard and you can't continue with the Training Agreement, find a new Participating Training Company with which to place the apprentice or trainee.
