Apprentice of the Year – Carlos Lambert
Carlos is a forth year Coach Body Builder for host company Camel Group. Carlos is a brilliant apprentice he will try his hand at anything and everything, there is very little he can’t do. Carlos plays an active role in training by passing on his knowledge and skills to others in the workshop. He is renowned for his excellent customer service where he will liaise with customers to smooth out any of their design worries; he will customize to their liking and has built up an extensive portfolio of his own designs. Carlos seems to have a very bright future ahead of him and we wish him all the best. Congratulations Carlos.

Trainee of the Year – Jessica Flynn
Jessica has been a model trainee at McInnes Wilson Lawyers. She has now completed a Certificate and Certificate 3 in Business Administration. After only one month of her traineeship, Jessica’s supervisor went on a two month holiday and Jessica was left in charge and did a flawless job. She earned herself a letter of commendation from the Partners congratulating her on a job well done and her supervisor was also thrilled with her efforts.
Jessica’s TAFE work was completed at a very high level so much so that Jessica was used as a guinea pig for a new module that McInnes Wilson Lawyers will now be using as an example for all new trainees. Super job Jessica. Congratulations!
Trainee Outstanding Achiever – Kyle Cully
Kyle started as a junior administration Trainee with Knight Frank however soon outgrew that position through his determination and commitment to the job. He shows initiative and an exceptional work ethic which is beyond his years. He is known as the ideas man. Kyle took it upon himself to instigate a new ordering system for the stationary that has saved the company thousands of dollars. Kyle also has great technical skills becoming the primary contact for all IT problems. Great job Kyle.
Trainee Encouragement – Stewart McGrath
Stewart has been hosted to Orrcon. It is hard to believe Stewart is only 18 years old, due to his maturity and professionalism he has shown in his work. He has taken on board all direction given to him throughout his traineeship and has grown into a model employee. Due to his great customer service skills he was able to land the company a big contract Well done Stewart
School-based Trainee of the Year – Amyee Rhodes
Amyee Rhodes is one of our quiet achievers. She prefers not to draw too much attention to herself, but her efforts through her traineeship have not gone unnoticed. She has proven her dedication and commitment to her industry and has lots of future career goals and aspirations that she is currently working towards. She is a very mature young lady who is a valued employee. She displays great work ethic and attention to detail and is very deserving of this award.

Apprentice of the Year – William Ryde
William is a third year Electrical Apprentice with Schneider Electric (Australia) Pty Ltd at Norwest Business Park in Sydney. William was nominated by his employer for his excellent ability to adapt to different areas of the business which allows the business to provide a high level of customer service. William is currently assisting in the design and construction of a variable speed drive test bench for their South Australian Branch. Finally, as his host stated, one of the things that sets William apart is that “he commands respect from his peers at a young age.”
Trainee of the Year – Melanie Oxford
Melanie commenced her Certificate III in Business Administration Traineeship in August 2006 with host ARO Hydramatic Engineering. ARO Hydramatic is the market leader in Design, Manufacture, Training and development of Mobile Bolters Technologies for Coal Mining around the world. Melanie works in the Engineering Department using design aids such as AutoCAD, Solid edge and NX unigraphics to produce Spare Parts Manuals for mining equipment. Due to Melanie’s dedication and enthusiasm, she completed her 12 month traineeship in just 8 months! At the completion of Melanie’s traineeship, she was offered a full time position as a Spare Parts Manual Assistant and is working independently within her team, to produce not only spare parts manuals, but also helping to produce all documentation and training manuals for all underground mining equipment. Well done Melanie!
School-based Trainee of the Year – Wendy Russell
Wendy is hosted by Newtown Providores in Dubbo doing a Certificate II in Retail Operations. She is also in the middle of her HSC exams. Wendy’s host Peter said that she has gone from a little shy lamb out the back to someone who works a high socio-economic clientele, and has them eating out of her hand. Wendy is now an integral part of the team at Newtown Providores and in Peter’s words “Wendy’s passion means he will take on another employee under this program as she has altered his attitude totally”. Congratulations Wendy.

School-based Trainee of the Year – Rachael Hyde
Rachel is a Retail School Based Trainee hosted by Australia Post. Not only has she demonstrated many outstanding capabilities at Australia Post, but Rachel is also on the Student Council at School. Rachel’s performance has never been questioned and she even landed herself an extremely high score with a mystery customer after only being in her traineeship for a short amount of time. She is a conscientious worker, excellent student and a lovely girl all round. Rachel should be very proud of this recognition. Keep up the great work!

Jessica is currently a second Year Electrical Apprentice hosted to Wormald Rockhampton. Jessica’s can do attitude has enabled her to gain the respect of her fellow tradesman. Nothing is ever too much for Jess – she is SO passionate about her apprenticeship. Jess’ performance has been outstanding since day one. She is well deserving of this recognition and should be extremely proud of herself. Congratulations Jess – keep up the great work!
