The New South Wales and Victoria Awards Night went off with a bang on Friday 1st April 2011. The full story will follow soon, but here’s a sneak peak:
“On the 1st April, 2011 I attended an Awards night at the West Leagues Club put on by MIGAS (Manufacturing Industries Group Apprenticeship Scheme).
I was accompanied by Deaynne Short, Manager of the Medical Records Dept at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital along with my family, friends and the supportive MIGAS Staff.
We all enjoyed a wonderful night with laughs and may I add a lot of anticipation. The school based awards were announced first , followed by a lovely meal. Then came the award that MIGAS nominated me for ( NSW/Victoria Trainee of the Year), there were a number of awards given out in this category, with 2 runners up, then it was announced to my excitement…I won! Never in my life have I been awarded such an honour and all the hard work did pay off!.
With winning the award I receive a trip, all expenses paid, to the Queensland Awards night on the 13th May, where they will announce the “National Trainee of the year”.
I wish to thank MIGAS for the opportunity that they have given me to start a Traineeship at my age ( I thought all trainees were young kids out of school) and also to Lake Macquarie Private Hospital for offering me the position of Trainee Medical Records Clerk. I have gained so much knowledge from the staff in Medical Records and I feel it is reflected by my winning this wonderful award.”
- Jenny Fullerton, MIGAS NSW/VIC Trainee of the Year
