MIGAS has been involved in the World’s Greatest Shave 2012 Shave for a Cure campaign for the Leukemia Foundation and raised $5002.85 for the worthy cause.

MIGAS Sydney HR Development Officer, Darren Hoefsmit, volunteered himself for a “shave” and actively raised awareness for the cause with local business (and MIGAS host company), Taurus Service Centre.  Taurus and MIGAS organised a one-day event with a BBQ, competitions, and “shaving and colouring”.  The below article was featured in The Blacktown Sun:

The MIGAS Sydney team attended the day, cooking the BBQ and showing our support. Some of our MIGAS host companies generously donated money to the cause, and we spoke to local businesses who offered meat, coloured hair spray, bread rolls, bottled water, soft drinks, sauces, and gave cash donations.

What wonderful support for a very worthy cause.  Thank you to all of those people and businesses that were involved.

An update from Darren Hoefsmit, Sydney HRDO:

“What a great Day we had last Saturday for The World’s Greatest Shave at one of our hosts Taurus Service Centre. There was arcade games for the kids, photo booth, jelly bean comp, face painting, raffles and not to mention an excellent BBQ.

Over the course of the day there must have been around 300 people turn up with some of them taking on the challenge of getting their head shaved or coloured. Amongst the crowd was some of our sponsors including METCASH and even the local bowling club were sending down patrons. The MIGAS Team was there in full strength leading others to take on the challenge whilst the local paper was snapping away.

Over all it was an excellent day with a combined effort of raising  $5002.85 with still more donations coming in. I would like to thank all the MIGAS Staff who sponsored this event and especially David who was very generous in supporting this occasion.”
