Traineeship is a combination of practical paid work with structured training, providing you with a nationally recognised qualification, practical hands on skills and experience. Traineeships are designed to give people the opportunity of starting a new industry-based career.
MIGAS offers a free recruitment process to both the job applicants and employers – Participating Training Companies. For the employers, MIGAS will screen and interview potential applicants. The Participating Training Companies then have the final say whom they wish to employ as their trainee. For the job applicants, MIGAS will interview and refer to vacancies. MIGAS will also give feedback to applicants regarding the interview.
All Traineeships lead to a nationally recognized qualification which can be used as credit toward further study or training, such as an apprenticeship.
Traineeships are available to people aged 15 - 64 who preferably do not have recent trade or tertiary qualifications. Traineeships are paid under the National Training Wage Award. These rates depend on the level of schooling trainees have completed and the number of years they have been out of school.
Traineeships are available in a wide range of industries including Administration, Engineering, Retail, Warehousing, IT and many others.
A typical 12 months Traineeship includes training in a range of industry specific subjects.
This training can be, where possible, arranged for the total "on the job" training, coordinated by whichever approved training provider has been selected. |
