Electrical Apprenticeships

The electrical industry is a diverse field encompassing a wide range of expert trade specialisations.

Electrical trades include designing, installing, maintaining and repairing systems and equipment in various settings, such as residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

Those working in the electrical industry may be involved in projects related to power generation, transmission, and distribution, or they might specialise in renewable energy systems, such as solar or wind power.

They may also work with control and security systems, air conditioning, telecommunications, or electrical safety inspections.

Electrical Trade Specialisations

Electrical apprentices are in high demand with a number of qualifications included on the Government’s Australian Apprenticeships Priority List.

In 2024 support payments are available for eligible apprentices on top of attractive wages that will see you earning while you learn your trade.

An electrical apprenticeship typically takes around 4 years.

Your hands-on training will be supervised by an experienced and licensed tradesperson in a real-world work environment, combined with off-the-job study of a relevant qualification usually at Certificate III level.

There are a number of electrical qualifications you can undertake depending on your trade specialisation area.
