Have you always had a fascination on how things are put together or for working on machinery? Are you continuously spending your time in the shed, creating, or fixing things? If you have a natural eye for detail, are good with your hands, and have some previous experience up your sleeve? Then this role as a Fitter Machinist Apprentice is for you!

We are looking for a full-time 2nd or 3rd Year Fitter Machinist Apprentice. This will give you the opportunity to complete your Certificate III in Engineering (MEM30219) and become a qualified Fitter Machinist.

You will develop the skills in machining to operate a number of metalwork machines including lathes and mills both manual and CNC to shape, slot and bore a wide range of components for a variety of industries all while working in a workshop environment with experienced tradespeople.

Our client is a family-owned company located in Thornton. They specialise in Engineering, Hydraulics and Thermal Arc Spraying and supply quality products and machining services to the local region.

We are looking for someone who is motivated to complete their apprenticeship and who can focus on the machinist side of the role. We need an apprentice who can work in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their role and workmanship, and has a willingness to continue learning and assisting others.

Good communication skills, a sound mechanical aptitude, and a good understanding of maths are highly desirable, as well as being prepared to work overtime when required.


  • Certificate II in Engineering or experience working with metals an advantage
  • Driver’s licence required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good safety awareness
  • Hardworking attitude and initiative
