The opportunity
Partnered with our client, we are seeking a mechanically minded individual looking to continue their Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (AUR 31116). This is a great opportunity to complete on-the-job training with industry professionals, whilst you complete your theory components and coursework. Working full-time Monday to Friday, your typical responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Overhaul, service and repair the mechanical parts of road transport vehicles such as the engine, transmission (clutch, gear box and differential) and the suspension systems (springs, steering, brakes, wheels and tyres);
- Fault find and carry out diagnosis procedures;
- Repair and service cooling systems, diesel fuel systems, air-conditioning, engine forced induction systems, and clutch assemblies; and
- Carry out repairs of ignition, electronic engine management, electrical systems, and safety/roadworthy inspections.

Who we’re looking for
Are you a mechanically minded 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Diesel Mechanic who is eager to continue their trade? To be successful in this role you must be safety-oriented and committed to following safety instructions and procedures at all times. Be committed to finishing your apprenticeship and have the drive to complete your qualification. In addition to these qualities, you must:
- Be a current 2nd or 3rd year apprentice;
- Enjoy physical and hands-on work;
- Have good motor skills;
- Be enthusiastic, mature-minded and possess good communication skills;
- Have a high mechanical aptitude, including a proficiency with mathematics; and
- Have no skin allergies or reactions to grease, oil or petrol.
