Are you fascinated by how things are put together or ever wanted to know how different machines work? Do you find yourself spending time in the shed, pulling things apart to see how they work? If you have a natural eye for detail and are good with your hands, becoming a Mechanical Fitter Apprentice could be for you!

This four-year apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to become a qualified Mechanical Fitter and earn a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) (MEM30219).

You will be involved in hands on activities developing your skills relating to the install, maintenance, repair, rebuilding and modification of pumps, pump systems, controls, and components.

This first year, full-time position is in Seven Hills in Greater Western Sydney, where you’ll be hosted with one of Australia’s leading pump companies, Malcolm Thompson Pumps (MTP).

MTP prides themselves on providing a complete range of pump solutions to a diverse range of clients across Australia as well as quality servicing and repair.

We’re looking for motivated applicants that have a positive attitude, good communication skills and are keen and willing to work.

  • Valid P1 licence minimum with own vehicle
  • Construction induction (white card)
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of hand tools
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, D&A, Working with Children Check, and a Police Check
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
