The opportunity

Partnered with our client, we are searching for a motivated school student to start their plumbing career. The successful candidate will commence this school-based apprenticeship working 1-2 days during the school week, with occasional work on Saturdays and school holidays.

As a plumbing apprentice with our client, you will learn everything in the trade from digging trenches and laying pipe bedding, to performing rough ins for new homes, extensions and renovations. You will also gain exposure working with down pipes, water tanks, pumps, septic units right through to repairing blocked pipes, fitting hot water systems and new kitchen appliances.

This role is best suited to a Sunshine Coast Hinterlands local, as the work location will mostly start and finish in our client’s depot in Maleny.

Who we’re looking for

We are searching for a current school student with a desire to start their trade career in plumbing. You will ideally be currently in Year 10, moving to year 11 in 2019 as this will give you a full 2 years of a school-based apprenticeship before moving into your 2nd Year apprenticeship at the end of Year 12. In addition to these qualities, you will:

  • Have reliable transport to and from work;
  • Be a motivated team player;
  • Be willing to learn and listen; and
  • Be committed to following safety procedures and guidelines.
