Civil Construction Traineeship - Road Construction and Maintenance

The Opportunity

Partnered with our host RoadTek, we have multiple full-time positions available for Civil Construction Trainees looking to get their hands on the tools, while completing a RII30920  Certificate III in Civil Construction.

Job Details

You will be involved in major infrastructure projects, gaining experience in the construction and maintenance of roadways, including repair and rehabilitation work.

This position is located in Maryborough, QLD

Your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Carrying out maintenance
  • Undertaking activities on civil infrastructure projects
  • General labour including hand digging and shovelling
  • Manual handling including lifting
  • Liaising with supervisors and schedulers to ensure jobs are completed within allocated time frames
  • Maintaining suitable work practices, requiring a proven record and ability to follow all safety policies and procedures

About You

You must have excellent communication skills and be ready and willing to undertake physical work in outdoor settings.

We are seeking candidates who are team players, and have the ability to work away.

As you will be working on and around busy roads and highways you must have good self-awareness and for those you are working with, as well as a safe and responsible attitude.

  • Reliable vehicle and current driver's licence 
  • Good problem-solving skills 
  • Strong safety focus
  • Positive attitude and genuine interest in the trade
  • Willing to work, listen and learn what the tradespeople teach you
  • Construction White Card
  • Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screen, and Police Check
