The Opportunity

Our client Berendsen Fluid Power is seeking a Fitter Machinist Apprentice to join their team in Berkeley, NSW.

Job Details

In this role, you will develop valuable machining skills, operating a range of metalworking machines, including lathes and mills, to shape, slot and bore components.

You'll learn to interpret drawings and specifications, repair and maintain hydraulic cylinders and use equipment, all in a workshop environment alongside experienced tradespeople.

Key Duties Include:

  • Assisting tradespeople with daily tasks
  • Stripping and disassembling mechanical and hydraulic components
  • Painting and cleaning parts and equipment
  • Measuring components with precision
  • Reassembling mechanical and hydraulic components

This four-year apprenticeship will equip you to become a qualified Fitter Machinist and earn your MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.

About You

We’re seeking a motivated individual who takes pride in quality work, pays close attention to detail and has a proactive approach to learning. A strong desire to develop new skills in a supportive environment is essential.

While extensive prior experience is not necessary, a basic understanding of mechanical components and comfort with hand tools will be beneficial.

  • Holds a current driver’s licence
  • Maintains a strong focus on safety
  • Positive attitude with a genuine interest in the trade
  • Mechanical aptitude with a keen eye for detail
  • Willingness to work hard, listen and learn from experienced tradespeople
  • Completion of a pre-apprenticeship or hands-on experience (highly regarded, but not essential)
  • Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screen and Police Check
