The Opportunity

MIGAS, in partnership with Shell QGC, is offering a unique opportunity for First Nations people to join our Indigenous Development Traineeship program.

This 12-month traineeship is designed to support your career journey, help you build new skills, and open doors to future apprenticeships and employment in the energy industry.

  • Paid traineeship with hands-on experience at Shell QGC
  • Enrolment in a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate II in Process Plant Operations or Certificate II in Engineering)
  • A clear pathway to an apprenticeship that matches your skills and interests
  • Broad exposure to different areas of Shell QGC’s business
  • Supportive First Nations mentors and a culturally safe and inclusive workplace

About You

We strongly encourage First Nations people who have connections to Country where QGC operates to apply.

These Traditional Owner groups are: Bailai, Barunggam, Bigambul, Cobble Cobble, Jarowair, Gangalou, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang, Iman, Mandandanji, Taribelang Bunda, Warrabal, Wakka Wakka, Western Wakka Wakka, and Yiman.

Please include your Traditional Owner group in your cover letter to assist our recruitment team in identifying your application. Be mindful that to participate in the selection process you will also be required to travel to Chinchilla.
