Retail Trade Sales Traineeship

The Opportunity

MIGAS in partnership with host company BOC Gas and Gear, is looking for a Trade Sales Trainee to join their team at BOC’s shop in Morwell.

This traineeship will see you complete the SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail, allowing you to put theory into practice while getting paid.

No two days are the same, and you’ll gain valuable experience that will set you up for a successful career.

Job Details

BOC Gas and Gear is a world leader in gases, engineering and healthcare. They provide innovative, sustainable and safe solutions for customers in specialty sectors, including heavy industry and medical environments.

This Retail Traineeship is hands-on and involves sales, phone and customer service work at the front of the store, as well as store duties in the back, including receiving and dispatching stock when required.

If you enjoy interacting with people and have an interest in engineering, but prefer not to work in a trade, this is the role for you.

If you already have a forklift licence and some experience with welding, that’s a plus. However, if not, BOC will provide forklift training and the opportunity to complete an introductory welding course.

About You

This role is designed for someone ready to immerse themselves in the day-to-day operations of a busy retail and industrial environment, with opportunities to build essential skills and contribute meaningfully to our team.

Requirements:

  • A positive and committed attitude
  • Ability and willingness to gain a forklift licence
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Previous sales, warehousing or retail experience is a plus but not essential
  • Driver's licence and reliable transport is ideal
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, and police check
