Apprenticeships in Canberra with MIGAS

MIGAS now has a dedicated Field Officer in Canberra recruiting, employing and placing people into Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships in the ACT.

MIGAS have been operating in Canberra since 2008. The area has been serviced by the Operations Team at the MIGAS Sydney office, after multiple requests from our network of businesses to expand into the Canberra region.

Unprecedented growth and opportunity in the region has prompted us to further expand our operations into Canberra, by hiring a dedicated professional into a Field Officer position on site.  Amanda Loughnan, a Canberra local, joins MIGAS with over 7 years’ experience in Job Services and Apprentice Training, holding an array of positions from Administration, through to Job Placement Consultant and Field Officer.

MIGAS are excited to re-double our efforts in the Australian Capital Territory, as we receive reports from employers that 2015 is starting to pick up.

MIGAS NSW/ACT/VIC State Manager, Natasha Gomes, perceives the trades to watch as Plumbing, Electrical and Automotive.

“There are great career and pay opportunities in both Residential and Commercial developments in the ACT,” says Natasha.

“Plenty of new suburbs have been and are being developed in the ACT with great opportunity to snap up work in the residential field.”

“MIGAS are committed to sourcing and providing excellent career opportunities for those hoping to enter the traditional trades. We know there are quality candidates out there, and the businesses that are capable of supporting them through their training.”

Amanda is excited to be working with MIGAS to grow our operations in the area, bringing across a world of knowledge from the industry, as well as some great on-the-ground local contacts.

If you’re looking for work in the region, Amanda recommends talking to the people you know.

“Canberra is a small community and word of mouth works well. It’s not always what you know, especially when starting an apprenticeship, but who you know!”

Amanda will be working closely with our highly skilled and experienced Sydney team for support and guidance while she works on building Canberra and its surrounding areas up.
