Painting Apprenticeships have been transformed by technological advancements and is now widely referred to as the Surface Coating Industry. The primary role of painters is to meticulously prepare surfaces for painting and then paint using a number of different techniques to deliver a variety of finishes.

As a painting apprentice your on-the-job training will cover all the techniques required specific to the operations of your host employer. You might specialise in the painting of large exterior buildings or the painting and decorating of interior walls in private dwellings. There are also opportunities in the Automotive and Mechanical trades painting and re-finishing vehicles.

This trade requires a four-year apprenticeship. MIGAS will facilitate your practical work placement with one of our quality host employers. In addition to on-the-job training, we will assist you with enrolment through a Registered Training Organisation to complete your certification. With MIGAS you will be fully supported throughout the duration of your placement by a Field Officer and by the wider MIGAS Apprentices and Trainees community.
