Does MIGAS Only Employ Apprentices in Gas Related Trades?

No. Despite what the name might suggest, MIGAS has nothing to do with gas as a trade or industry. MIGAS is an acronym for Manufacturing Industries Group Apprenticeship Scheme, and we work across a broad range of trade apprenticeships and vocational traineeships well beyond manufacturing alone.

Where the Name Comes From

MIGAS began operating as a Group Training Organisation in 1988, at a time when the organisation's focus was more closely aligned with manufacturing industries. The name reflects those origins.

In the decades since, MIGAS has grown significantly and now places apprentices and trainees across electrical, automotive, engineeringconstruction and a wide range of traineeship areas. The acronym has stayed, but the scope of what we do has expanded considerably.

Today, MIGAS Apprentices & Trainees is one of Australia's most experienced GTOs, operating across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
